Cork City Council operates a system of "ward funds" allocated on the instruction of individual elected members.

These funds amount to €13,500 per elected member per year, ordinarily paid to organisations within the ward. A maximum of €1,000 per year may be paid to citywide organisations. The maximum any organisation may receive in a calendar year is €500. The minimum grant is €100.

Funding will be available to support specific projects or publicly-accessible events by organisations. I have taken a decision not to fund revenue (i.e. on going costs) of organisations, including on-going maintenance works.

In order to ensure fairness, I will be allocating these funds on a quarterly basis (€4,000 per quarter). Each application will be assessed at the end of each quarter (in February, May, August, and November).
